We have a long and privileged partnership with the Vet Center of Cleveland to provide VA Counseling Services.

A veteran can obtain these services in one of two ways.

  1. The Vet Center has tasked one of their experienced counselors to work out of our agency three Tuesdays a month. Please contact our front desk to schedule an appointment at (330) 643-2838

Eligibility

War Zone Veteran - all eras including

  • World War II - 12/7/1941 to 12/31/1946
  • American Merchant Marines - In ocean going service during the period of armed conflict, 12/7/1942 to 8/15/1945
  • Korean War - 06/27/1950 to 01/31/1955
  • Vietnam War - 02/28/1961 to 05/07/1975
  • Lebanon - 8/25/1982 to 02/26/1984
  • Grenada - 10/23/1983 to 11/21/1983
  • Panama - 12/20/1989 to 01/31/1990
  • Persian Gulf - 8/2/1990 to Current Date
  • Somalia - 9/17/1992 to Current Date

Operation Joint Endeavor, Operation Joint Guard, Operation Joint Forge - Vet Center eligibility has been extended to veterans who participated in one or more of the three successive operations in the former Yugoslavia (Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia, aboard U.S. naval vessels operating in the Adriatic Sea, or air space above these areas.

Sexual Trauma / Harassment Counseling - Veterans of any era who experienced sexual trauma while serving on active duty (gender neutral).

Global War on Terrorism - Veterans who serve in military expeditions to combat terrorism on or after September 11, 2001 and before a terminal date yet to be determined.

Bereavement Counseling - Counseling and assistance is now being offered to parents, spouse and children of armed forces personnel who died in service to our country. Also eligible are family members of military reservist and National Guard personnel who die while on active duty. Services are obtained by contacting Readjustment Counseling Service at (202) 273-9116 or via electronic mail at vet.center@hq.med.va.gov both of which are specific to this specialized service.
