The Summit County Veterans Service Commission connects veterans, their spouses, and dependents to the benefits and support they have earned — from VA claims to financial aid, burial honors, and transportation.

How We Serve Summit County Veterans

Our services are provided at no cost to eligible veterans and their families.

VA Claims & Benefits

We assist the veteran, the widow of a veteran, and their dependents with filing claims for VA benefits.

Financial Assistance

The VSC stands ready to assist the households of veterans who have honorably served during their time of need.

Burial Services

Giving every veteran honor and dignity in their final resting is the highest priority of the VSC.

Transportation

Transportation to and from VA medical facilities and the Sandusky Ohio Veterans Home.

A Mandated County Organization

The Summit County Veterans Service Commission is a mandated county organization established under Title 59 of the Ohio Revised Code. All of our services are provided free of charge to eligible veterans and their families. Our accredited service officers work one-on-one with you to navigate the VA system and secure the benefits you earned through your service.
